INFO ALERT – AQMD Postpones Major ISR Vote

Posted March 5th, 2018 | Status:

Today the South Coast AQMD was gearing up to vote on whether or not to impose Indirect Source Rules (ISRs). Indirect Source Rules impose an emissions cap on traffic coming to and from a business despite not being able to control the various people and vehicles that visit them. Implementing this rule is a way to take revenue from businesses like warehouses, construction sites, and railyards who would have to pay fines for non compliance, or shut down.

After an impressive showing of our membership who stood in unison opposing these unnecessary measures – the board decided 10-1 to postpone the vote until their April meeting. One of the sitting board members, Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley, was unable to attend and the board wanted all members present before they took a vote on this important topic.

We are not finished. BizFed plans on mobilizing again for the April 6th meeting. So please, mark your calendars, so we can finish the discussion of ISR’s once and for all.
