Charlie Weiss serves as EVP of Public Affairs for California Resources Corporation, a public company with statewide energy production headquartered in Los Angeles County. Charlie has helped drive a nationally recognized safety and environmental stewardship program. He also leads the company’s community engagement program that champions working families and neighborhoods where their workforce resides. Charlie previously worked for Occidental Petroleum Corporation for 18 years in California and Texas, serving as VP of Health, Environment & Safety and in various roles as an attorney and compliance officer. Prior to Occidental, he practiced environmental law at Latham & Watkins LLP. Charlie has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University and a law degree from the University of Michigan. A resident of the San Fernando Valley, Charlie is married with two adult daughters. Charlie serves on the Boards of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Mid-Valley Family YMCA, and DentalCare for Learning, and is a lifetime member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
