Fred Sutton is a third generation Angeleno who was raised on the Westside of Los Angeles where he attended schools in the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood. He studied political science at the University of Arizona and foreign policy at American University where he worked for the speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Fred has been deeply involved civically. He has worked on several local campaigns and in fundraising capacities. He served as a member of the West LA Neighborhood council and later was a field deputy for Los Angeles Councilmember Mike Bonin. As a field deputy, he represented the residents of Westchester, Playa Vista and Playa del Rey where he worked closely on the district’s homeless issues and public works projects. In his capacity as the Director of Government Affairs at the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles, he works tirelessly to work on behalf of housing providers on the local, state and federal level. He monitors local legislation and works to ensure fair and effective policy as it relates to housing and development. He is a certified NationBuilder expert, an organizing software and is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate.
