AQMD/CARB Coalition Committee
SoCal Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs
NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, is the leading national
organization of developers, owners, and related professionals in office, industrial and mixed-
use real estate. The NAIOP SoCal Chapter serves Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and is the third largest chapter in the United States with a membership of over 1,000 members.
Peter Herzog is NAIOP SoCal’s Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs. In his role, Mr. Herzog is the primary policy analyst and writes most of the letters/position papers for the organization, as well as testifying at public meetings and interacting with the press. He works to form strategic partnerships with other groups and the public-sector organizations, such as city and County governments, to achieve a responsible path toward the positive growth and development of our region’s economy. Commercial development is a key part of the goods
movement system that has become a key target of the regulators, and this has caused him over the last 10 years to become deeply engaged in issues before the South Coast Air Quality District (SCAQMD) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Herzog spent 18 years as a civil law trial attorney. His lengthy community service as a Mayor and Council Member, as well as serving on various regional and state commissions, turned his focus to public and governmental relations. Thus, he is very familiar with both the public and private sector.
