Julia Deng is a multimedia storyteller and narrative strategist with experience producing content for broadcast, digital, print, and radio news outlets. She joined the Los Angeles County Business Federation in July 2021 after serving communities in Texas and Indiana as an investigative journalist.

Advocacy is central to Julia's work across all platforms. Her reports for WISH-TV and KWES-TV led to corrective action at schools, companies, public agencies, and a public utility. During the coronavirus pandemic, Julia aired a series of reports that helped viewers access their benefits after she uncovered an issue in Indiana's unemployment insurance system that caused payment delays for more than 20,000 people.

Her innovative storytelling techniques showcase her passion for smart business and effective government. In Texas, she introduced the concept of "mobile multimedia journalism" to streamline newsgathering, airing reports shot entirely on her iPhone. At CBS Los Angeles, she field produced DWP and Caltrans investigations for reporter David Goldstein, conducting dusk-to-dawn stakeouts and shooting footage on hidden cameras to expose corruption.

Julia is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California, where she double-majored in journalism and political science. Fight on!
