Action Alert – Tell the MWD to Support the Delta Tunnel Project!

Share This :
BizFed has long been a supporter of the Delta Conveyance, formerly known as the California WaterFix. A one-tunnel project that will securely transport water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) to Southern California. The Delta provides nearly one-third of Southern California's water supply, serving 19 million residents. However, the Delta's infrastructure is out of date and climate change, potential earthquakes and severe storms threaten its reliability.   The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) will be voting next week (12/8) to fund its share of the planning and pre-construction costs of the tunnel project. The MWD Board of Directors need to hear from YOU - letting them know that YOU support the continued funding of the project to ensure safe, reliable drinking water for farmland, residents and businesses.  Governor Newsom is a strong supporter of the tunnel project citing its necessity for a balanced water resiliency portfolio. While we will continue to support recycling, water conservation and other means of water supplies, such as desalination, it's not enough to replace the water we receive from the Delta and the $1.6 trillion economy it supports.
