VICTORY ALERT: BizFed members protect Measure M Highway and Goods Movement funds!
Today at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors voted unanimously to adopt the final Measure M guidelines. We want to thank the full Metro Board of Directors and Metro staff for their leadership on this important milestone of Measure M implementation to deliver what was promised to the voters. Through our mobilization and advocacy, we want to give special thanks to Metro Board Director, Mayor Robert Garcia of Long Beach for amending Item 38.3 to; remove language references of level of service (LOS) and vehicle miles traveled (VMT), include local stakeholder input through the Gateway Cities Council of Government and most importantly to define flexibility of mobility options such as active transportation without jeopardizing the delivery of highway and goods movement projects voters supported in Measure M. This is a great example of the collaboration that BizFed and business community leaders bring to the Metro Board as "BizFed is in it to win it" in our support and implementation of Measure M. BizFed wants to thank the following members and leaders for presenting and or providing written testimony at the Metro Board Meeting; Moises Cisneros, Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce, Peter Herzog, NAIOP, Mike Lewis, BizFed Chair and CIAQC, Hilary Norton, FAST, Schenae Rourk, NAWBO, DeAndre Valencia, BIA.
