ACTION ALERT - Write to the Metro Board of Directors now to tell them to support Alternative C-1 for the Crenshaw/LAX corridor.
At this morning's BizFed Executive Committee call, we took an official position on the operating plan for the future Crenshaw/LAX Corridor by supporting Metro staff's recommendation of Alternative C-1 with an amendment for Metro to increase service to Commuter Express Route #438 to best serve the riders in the South Bay region. BizFed took great time and care reaching out to stakeholders throughout the region this past week to ensure proper vetting to make an informed and careful decision.
BizFed members believe that Alternative C-1 would serve the most riders throughout the region; is the most cost-effective to operate and provide the most flexibility for future demands to service to the NFL stadium and extensions south to Torrance and north towards Hollywood. Alternative C-1 expands north-south operational capacity along Crenshaw Blvd and cost $10M less to operate than Alternative C-3 which only supports east-west operations along the 105 Freeway.
With our position, we will submit our letter to the Metro Board of Directors and comment at their Metro Board meeting, Thursday, December 6th. We urge BizFed members to submit their own letters copy and paste the suggested the language below to the Metro Board and send them to the Metro Board Secretary's office at jacksonm@metro.net.
