The BizFed family is celebrating a notable victory for business and civic leaders of all stripes. You might have already seen it on our social platforms, but we're amplifying the excellent news with a Victory Alert so you all know you have a friendly ally leading the charge on state-level transportation solutions.
We issued an Action Alert in January urging BizFed members to use their voices and platforms to call for Hilary's swift reappointment, and simplified the process with our easy-to-fill-out template letter. We're grateful to all who stepped up and wrote to Governor Gavin Newsom to reiterate the business community's support of Hilary's leadership in the transportation space. We're thrilled her track record of advancing policies that improve mobility, livability, and prosperity will continue to benefit all Californians.
Hilary was first appointed to the CTC by Governor Newsom in September 2019. She was elected to serve as CTC Chair in August 2020 and January 2021.
Since her initial appointment, Hilary has worked diligently to help California secure nearly $8 billion in annual transportation infrastructure funding to meet ambitious equity, public safety, mobility, climate change, and economic growth goals.

The 13-member California Transportation Commission is responsible for programming and allocating funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail, transit, and active transportation improvements throughout California. The Commission also advises and assists the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency and the Legislature in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California’s transportation programs.
