We're celebrating a major transportation victory. The BizFed-backed Los Angeles Aerial Rapid Transit (LA-ART) Project's Environmental Impact Report was authorized yesterday by the Metro Board of Directors. It sailed through on a 11-0-1 vote following enthusiastic testimony from BizFed Senior Advocacy Manager Chris Wilson and the members and partners below.
The proposed gondola connecting Union Station and Dodger Stadium would slash game-day traffic, carrying an estimated 6,000 riders each game day between the station and stadium by 2026. That means eliminating up to 3,000 car trips from neighborhood streets. Nearly 15,000 Angelenos and 400+ businesses in Lincoln Heights, El Pueblo, Chinatown, and other communities have already signed up to support the project.

The project now needs the green light from LA City Council, CalTrans, and the California State Parks Commission. If approved by all three bodies, it would then come back to the Metro Board for construction approval. We're thrilled the proposal cleared yesterday's Metro Board vote and look forward to rallying diverse local voices ahead of next steps. Please review and circulate our resources below within your own networks to ensure your members and partners are well-equipped to add their voices to our growing chorus of support.
