ACTION ALERT: Act now to fix California’s water problem

We need your help right now to enable NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to conduct a feasibility study of their idea to build a 300 mile underwater pipeline to solve California’s water problem. BizFed strongly supports this concept, and Rep. Mimi Walters this week submitted House Resolution 3529 to secure the $5 million necessary for NASA to study whether it’s technological feasible.  Things are moving quickly - Congress has until Sept. 30 to pass a budget — so we need to act now!  Can you please act today? House Resolution 3529 has been referred to the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.  Click here to email the members of the committee and urge them to support the appropriation.  Here's language you can use:
"As a member of the business community, I urge you to support HR 3529 to enable NASA to study the feasibility of a pipeline to deliver urgently needed fresh water to California.  This modest research investment would reap massive dividends, saving and creating jobs in America's largest economy."

NASA/JPL has developed a concept for a 300 mile underwater aqueduct — built using materials they are testing for an eventual manned mission to Mars — that could meet the water supply needs of over one billion people.  This pipeline would redirect a mere percent or two of the fresh water that is currently being lost into the ocean from the mouth of the Columbia River to reservoirs in California.
