RSVP: Reply to this note or email david.englin@bizfed.orgBizFed has been engaged with the NOx RECLAIM Coalition since the start of this effort to update clean air rules to reduce emissions while protecting economic growth. After three years of analyses and significant work, the SCAQMD Governing Board adopted new rules on December 5 that they described as the “largest emission reduction in the history of the region’s pollution credit trading program . . . largest single pollution cut adopted by the agency in recent years.” On January 7, the California Air Resources Board sent a letter challenging the AQMD Board’s decision, so the state Senate’s Environmental Quality Committee has scheduled an oversight (informational) hearing to learn more about the rule amendments and Board vote. The Committee will invite public comments after a panel discussion with representatives from CARB, AQMD, industry and environmental groups. Please plan to attend and stand with BizFed as we provide public comments in support of the SCAQMD Governing Board’s decision.
