TOMORROW,
Tuesday, December 1, the LA City Council Energy, Climate Change, and Environmental Justice Committee will be continuing its discussion on implementing an oil-well setback within the city. A setback would prevent an oil-well from operating if it is within a certain amount of feet from essential buildings.
Given the current economic climate, the LA City Council's sole focus should be on creating, maintaining and supporting job creators in the region -not considering regulations that would put more people out of work and cut revenues from the City's already cash-strapped budget.
It is important that the LA City Council hear concerns from the business community on the potential downfalls of a setback -
including lost revenue, loss of good-paying jobs and loss of affordable energy. To read more on the costs of an oil-well setback, click here.
Please consider calling into the committee meeting and make your voice heard. Public comment will be taken at the beginning of the meeting and details to call in are below.
