At their March 31st board meeting, Los Angeles County Supervisors Janice Hahn and Hilda Solis requested a report back from county officials on the potential of a countywide "right of recall," "worker retention," and paid sick leave policies.
This report will be discussed by the Supervisors TOMORROW (4/14) at their board meeting, 9:30am. You can watch the board meeting live here.

We have been told the County will likely not be taking a vote tomorrow and will only be reviewing the report back. However, we believe it's still important that the business community mobilize and make their voices heard during this crucial time.

The request from the county came only days after the Los Angeles City Council reviewed similar motions during their emergency meeting on March 27th, where they gave industries only 24 hours to review the details of these policies.
Thanks to our members, the Los Angeles City Council decided to table action on the "right of recall" and "worker retention" ordinances but still passed an amended paid sick leave policy applying to businesses with 500 or more employees nationwide.
Mayor Garcetti earlier last week did not sign the councils recommended paid sick leave ordinance and instead issued his own executive order, expanding the amount of employees to 500 in the City of Los Angeles and 2,000 or more nationwide, among other things.
