We need you to take action by Wednesday. Remember the BizFed-backed gondola project that made headlines last year? Reporters trumpeted the Los Angeles Aerial Rapid Transit (LA-ART) Project's potential to slash game-day traffic around Dodger Stadium. We weren't surprised the proposal made media waves. The proposed gondola is expected to carry 6,000 riders between Union Station and Dodger Stadium during each game by 2026, potentially removing up to 3,000 car trips from neighborhood streets.
Now we need you to make some noise. A critical vote is scheduled for this Wednesday, February 14 at 1 p.m. The Metro Planning & Programming Committee will consider adopting the Environmental Impact Report for the LA-ART Project on Wednesday. Click the link below to quickly and easily send an advocacy message to committee members ahead of the vote. Nearly 15,000 individuals and 400+ businesses in Chinatown, El Pueblo, Lincoln Heights, and other local communities have already signed up to support the project.
✔️ LA-ART will provide the first permanent transit connection to Dodger Stadium, which has the highest attendance out of any stadium in the country and is one of the few without a dedicated transit connection.
✔️ LA-ART will improve traffic and parking for residents by potentially removing up to 3,000 car trips from neighborhood streets, easing local traffic, improving safety and reducing the need to park in the local community.
✔️ By 2026, the LA-ART is expected to carry close to 6,000 riders between Union Station and Dodger Stadium during each game. That number jumps to 10,000 by the year 2042.
✔️ LA-ART would provide local benefits to those who live and work in the area through the “Community Access Program,” which allows residents and employees of businesses close to the project to ride the gondola and connect to the regional transit system at no additional cost.
