Promote energy reliability in Southern California by supporting efforts to safely restore operations at the Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility, which is a vital component of Southern California’s electricity infrastructure. In fact, about 60 percent of the electricity generated in California comes from power plants that run on natural gas, and during the summer and winter months natural gas is even more critical to regional energy reliability. Without Aliso Canyon, there is an increased risk of natural gas curtailments, which introduces uncertainty and concerns regarding energy reliability in the Greater Los Angeles area.
