ACTION ALERT - Tell Governor Newsom why Commissioner LUCY DUNN needs to be reappointed to the California Transportation Commission! Support letters needed today! Commissioner Lucy Dunn, BizFed member and CEO of the Orange County Business Council, is up for reappointment to the California Transportation Commission (CTC), representing the Southern California region. However, her membership on the Commission hangs in the balance as Governor Newsom may make his decision soon.  BizFed is backing Commissioner Lucy Dunn to be reappointed. We want to thank BizFed members, California Business Roundtable, California Chamber, LA Area Chamber, Metro, Metrolink and SCAG for submitting support letters on behalf of Commissioner Dunn. Feel free to use our letter or the template letter in this email. However, we urge other BizFed members to also submit support letters immediately to Cathryn Rivera-Hernandez, the Governor's Appointments’ Secretary, Cathryn.Rivera-Hernandez@gov.ca.gov and copy Veronica Ortiz-Torres, Veronica.Ortiz-Torres@gov.ca.gov, and Morgan Carvajal, morgan.carvajal@gov.ca.gov Membership on the Commission is critical. Commissioner Dunn is a past Chair. The CTC will administer the Gas Tax funds through the SB1 program that will complete vital transportation infrastructure projects, benefiting our economy through safer streets, smoother roads, and more efficient goods movement corridors. To successfully administer and deliver the transportation maintenance and new infrastructure projects promised to taxpayers and to push for opportunities for stronger public-private partnerships to help it grow further, it’s crucial to have a strong voice advocating for the business community on the CTC.
