California has raced to adopt the nation's most ambitious environmental goals. That's why business leaders are racing to advance more technologies and strategies to help the state meet those goals. SB 1420 seeks to set a statewide standard for the use of clean hydrogen in transportation and will improve the permitting process for certain hydrogen production projects.
Some environmental groups are pushing back on all efforts to development hydrogen. It's imperative that we let elected leaders know business leaders support SB 1420.
🚨 California’s 2022 Scoping Plan Update calls for hydrogen capacity to be scaled up 1,700 times by 2045. We can't do that without initiatives such as this proposal.
🚨 This bill will supercharge the development of a hydrogen economy, better equipping us to decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors including power generation, heavy-duty transport, and industrial processes.
🚨 The U.S. Department of Energy recently selected California to receive up to $1.2 billion for the development of hydrogen. Streamlining hydrogen permitting processes while we have this funding will ultimately make it more affordable for end users.
