LOS ANGELES (Dec. 8, 2023) – A seasoned coalition builder and business advocate has been tapped to lead the only pro-business political action committee focused on local elections in all 88 cities across Los Angeles County.

Mitchell Vieyra
will serve as Director of BizFed PAC beginning Jan. 1, 2024. Vieyra’s newly created role will supercharge the political action committee’s ability to identify, engage, recruit and elect business-friendly candidates committed to boosting job creation, economic progress and healthy communities.

BizFed PAC has supported more than 300 winning candidates since its launch in 2010, maintaining a 75% win rate for endorsed candidates. Those candidates now serve as county supervisors, sheriff, mayors, city council members and other elected officeholders in dozens of jurisdictions stretching from Santa Monica to Pomona and Santa Clarita to Long Beach.

Vieyra will continue in his current role as Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Los Angeles County Business Federation, widely known as “BizFed.” His two distinct roles will equip him to serve as a conduit between BizFed’s advocacy arm and BizFed PAC’s political operations. Both entities are motivated by a vision of broader collaboration between unexpected partners, better jobs for more people, safer neighborhoods and a stronger regional economy.

“Pro-business policy advocacy and political mobilization make California work for all of us. We look forward to amplifying the civic voice and impact of job creators with Mitchell Vieyra at the helm of BizFed PAC,” said Tracy Hernandez, Founding CEO of BizFed.

“Mitchell Vieyra is a business community all-star. He has been an advocate for the business community for more than a decade and has a unique understanding of how BizFed PAC can be leveraged to create an optimal business climate across Greater Los Angeles,” said Aaron Taxy, Chair of BizFed PAC’s Board of Directors.

“The bridges we’ve already built between elected officials, civic influencers, business leaders, nonprofit organizations and community members will provide solid footing for pro-jobs candidates ready to step up for elected office. It’s a privilege to serve them as Director of BizFed PAC,” said Vieyra.

He previously served as Senior Program Director for the 501(c)(3) BizFed Institute, BizFed’s third branch dedicated to convening solution-oriented thought leaders from diverse sectors and communities.
