Chris Wilson began his public service career at the age of 16 working for the City of Pico Rivera Parks and Recreation Department. After three years at the City of Pico Rivera, Chris then went on to work for the Whittier Union High School District in 2005 as a Vocational Specialist, working with adults with disabilities.
Chris began working for the California State Legislature in 2008 first as an Intern then Project Coordinator to California Assembly member Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto) of the 62nd Assembly District. Chris continued his service in the Assembly where he joined the Office of Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal (D-Long Beach) in February of 2009 as a Case Manager and Field Representative. Chris then transitioned to work for Assembly member Lowenthal in her Sacramento office for two years (2012-2014) as a Legislative Aide.
Due to term limits, Chris joined the team of Assembly member Mike A. Gipson (D- Carson) in 2014. During this time, Chris served as a Field Representative, Senior Field Representative, Communications Consultant, Acting Chief of Staff, and then District Director.
Chris has dedicated 12 amazing years working for the California State Legislature under three governors, four speakers and three assembly members from 2008 to 2020.
Currently, Chris works for the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) as a Public Policy Manager, responsible for issues involving Housing and Land Use, CEQA, Responsible Governance, Transportation and Trade. Chris Wilson is a graduate of Cerritos Community College with a major in Liberal Arts and Sciences and minor in Business Administration. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Phoenix in Communications.
Chris lives in the City of Signal Hill where he was appointed by the Signal Hill City Council as the youngest and youngest person of color to serve on the city’s Planning Commission in 2017. He was re-appointed to this post in 2021. Chris was also appointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn in 2020 to serve on LA Metro’s Community Advisory Council.
