David Englin

President

David Englin is a seasoned nonprofit executive and public policy advocate with 25 years of organizational leadership experience that includes growing and transforming organizations and delivering major policy public wins.

David first joined BizFed in 2012 after serving three full terms as a state legislator in Virginia. As BizFed’s first Director of Advocacy and then Executive Vice President, he helped lead BizFed to powerful victories across water, housing, transportation, and air quality policy before being recruited to a senior executive role at the American Red Cross. After five years serving as Chief Operating Officer of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region, David returned to BizFed in the newly created role of President as part of an enhanced leadership structure designed to supercharge BizFed’s ability to mobilize and advocate on behalf of its diverse and civically active business members.

David’s first profession was as an Air Force officer, and he is a proud graduate of both the United States Air Force Academy and the Harvard Kennedy School, the public policy school of Harvard University. David and his wife, Shayna, have an adult son, Caleb, who graduated from Los Angeles Unified School District’s John Marshall High School. David and Shayna enjoy good food, wine, and whisky, and the love of their two giant rescue dogs.
