Let’s Get This Charter/Cox Deal Done!

Share This :

Earlier this year, BizFed members and partners stepped up to support the proposed Charter/Cox merger before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). If you weren’t able to participate in one of the public meetings, there’s still time to make your voice heard.

The CPUC continues to review this important transaction, and we are urging business leaders, community stakeholders, and residents to submit public comments supporting approval of the merger before the Commission’s August 13 meeting.

Why This Matters

Reliable, high-speed connectivity is essential for families, workers, employers, and community organizations throughout Los Angeles County. Charter Spectrum already provides critical internet and mobile services while supporting local nonprofits that deliver food, shelter, education, and other essential services.

Approving the Charter/Cox merger will:

✅ Expand broadband and mobile capacity for more customers

✅ Strengthen regional connectivity and digital infrastructure

✅ Support economic growth and business investment in Los Angeles County

✅ Advance affordability and digital equity commitments for low-income households

✅ Build on agreements reached with the California Public Advocates Office and the California Emerging Technology Fund

The merger has already completed reviews in other state and federal jurisdictions. With Department of Justice approval set to expire in September, California should act without unnecessary delay. Prolonged uncertainty could undermine the transaction’s benefits and discourage future investment in our state.
