INFO ALERT: Minimum Wage Meeting Recap and Updated Platform

Dear Minimum Wage Working Group, Last week, the Minimum Wage Working Group met to update BizFed’s Minimum Wage Platform. The group voted to keep the Platform as written except for the following updates:
  • Remove untimely references throughout the platform now that the state has passed minimum wage.
  • Advocate for local jurisdictions that have a different minimum wage policy than the state to align with California law.
  • Further emphasize that minimum wage policies should include strong mitigating factors such as a total compensation model that accounts for tips, the establishment of a meaningful teen wage, prolonged implementation, and periodic economic reviews with strong off-ramp provisions if the minimum wage policies are not working.
