LOS ANGELES COUNTY BUSINESS FEDERATION (BIZFED) LAUNCHES PRESIDENT/CEO SEARCH AS POWERFUL BUSINESS COALITION PREPARES TO EXPAND ITS INFLUENCE IN 2026
Select Committee Embarks on Formal Search for New Leadership as Massive Business Alliance Positions Itself for Its Most Influential Advocacy Year Yet
(1/15/2026, Los Angeles, CA) — The Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), a massive grassroots business alliance representing 245 diverse business organizations and more than 420,000 employers employing over five million workers statewide today announced it is seeking new leadership following the announcement that its Founding CEO, Tracy Hernandez, is stepping down effective January 31, 2026.
BizFed is seeking a high-profile, politically sophisticated leader to command one of the most influential business advocacy platforms in California. This President/CEO role offers unparalleled access to decision-makers, the ability to drive real policy change and the mandate to expand BizFed’s reach, relevance and impact. The right candidate will be a relationship-driven rainmaker who thrives at the intersection of business, government and public policy and is ready to lead from the front.
BizFed has assembled a select search committee from its leadership to conduct a formal search for its next President/Chief Executive Officer as the organization prepares to enter a highly consequential year of expanded advocacy and activism in 2026. This leadership transition is designed to position BizFed for its next phase of growth—strengthening its influence, elevating its voice, and expanding its impact across Southern California and beyond. The committee will consider both internal and external candidates with deep experience in public affairs and government policy, and a proven ability to lead and grow a diverse business coalition.
“As BizFed looks ahead to 2026, we are focused on building on our strength as we usher in an exciting new era of leadership, clarity, and purpose,” said 2026 Board Chair Trini Jimenez. “This transition positions BizFed to be even stronger in our advocacy, more unified in our voice, and more impactful in advancing policies that allow businesses, workers and communities across California to thrive.”
Founded in 2008, BizFed has grown exponentially into a “network of business networks” uniting a powerful coalition of chambers of commerce, trade associations, minority business groups, economic development organizations, business improvement districts, and other business organizations advocating for policies and projects that spur business growth, foster job creation and nurture economic vitality throughout Los Angeles County and across California.
