Today, April 10th, the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District voted to support the California WaterFix. We agree with Governor Brown. The time is now to affordably and responsibly shore up our fragile Delta water system by building tunnels to SoCal.
By a good margin, 60.83% of the Board agreed and adopted option #2 which will authorize Metropolitan to finance its share of California WaterFix as a SWP contractor and to fully fund the unsubscribed share of the project up to 64.6% of total project costs. This approach would realize the full water supply reliability, water quality, and environmental benefits of California WaterFix as originally envisioned and currently approved
