Last week, we reached out to you to ask for your help in opposing AB 1000 and thanks to your help - AB 1000 failed to advance out of the California Senate Appropriations Committee!
Unfortunately, the bill’s proponents are now pushing legislative leaders to change the rules AGAIN to revive the measure before the legislative session ends next week!
We need your help to send our gratitude to our Senate leaders for their efforts to stop AB 1000 and to ask them to continue to protect water, jobs and a sustainable economy.

AB 1000 would have created a terrible precedent, injecting more uncertainty into the regulatory process for any new project in California - not just water infrastructure, but also transportation projects, schools, hospitals, affordable housing developments and much more. The bill jeopardized jobs and economic development as well. The large infrastructure projects AB 1000 puts at risk create jobs and support the economy; the Cadiz Water Project, for example, will create and support nearly 6,000 jobs and generate nearly $1 billion in economic activity.
It's the end of the legislative session and we are in our final stretch... please join us TODAY to thank our leaders for stopping AB 1000! |
