ACTION ALERT: Stop eleventh-hour push to strangle warehouse development

Share This :

You have mere hours to use your vital voice in this fight. We're alerting you at this late hour after BizFed leaders voted today to oppose AB 98 (Carrillo, Reyes), which mandates new warehouse setbacks. The Legislature is set to hear the eleventh-hour bill TOMORROW. It pushes stringent warehouse and logistics use rules that harm livelihoods and the health of our supply chain.

AB 98 creates an uneven playing field for local governments by creating winners and losers based on geography. The bill's required circulation element update has enforcement measures that include city fines totaling up to $50,000 every six months! We're urging you to take action NOW to protect jobs, development, and the vitality of our supply chain.

This bill is being rushed through at the last minute – without proper policy committee deliberation – after it failed to pass via transparent and thoughtful lawmaking processes. The Senate Appropriations Committee took up AB 98 this morning and approved it on a 5-1 vote. It heads to the full senate tomorrow.
