This isn't just a photo of another bill signing ceremony in Sacramento. This snap captures a historic moment marking a new era of bigger, faster, better-funded development throughout California. This moment was made possible by civically engaged Californians like you.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed his BizFed-backed infrastructure package into law this afternoon in Sacramento, flanked by key legislative allies and state infrastructure czar Antonio Villaraigosa. It takes a village! The infrastructure streamlining bills made it across the finish line following sustained business community advocacy.

  • Executed properly, this plan will maximize $180 billion in infrastructure investments over the next decade – and create an estimated 400,000 good-paying jobs in construction and related fields.

  • It helps California meet ambitious climate goals, repair and replace aging infrastructure, and expedite environmental planning.

  • It also includes a "shot clock" limiting the duration of lawsuits filed under the oft-abused California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) targeting water, transportation, clean energy and other vital infrastructure projects.

Today's signing means a brighter tomorrow for everyday Californians worried about access to safe drinking water, affordable clean energy, quality roads, and good jobs. Now let’s get to work building big things faster.
